Earlier this month, PA sat down with Adam Young Co-Director of Smythe House to hear more about the “distinct Smythe House approach” and why it’s all about "continuously delivering value through a client-first mindset" and unique fee structure.

Wealth manager Oberon Investments' financial advice arm – Smythe House – charges an annual consultancy fee on a fixed basis and argues it believes this "adds value" to clients. Smythe House co-director Adam Young told PA that Smythe House's "unique" fee structure came about after it asked clients what they wanted. "They told us, we went away and did it," he explained. "As a consequence of that, we felt that it isn't right for us to only be rewarded by making a transactional sale."
