Wealth manager Oberon Investments’ financial advice arm – Smythe House – charges an annual consultancy fee on a fixed basis and argues it believes this adds value to clients.
Smythe House co-director Adam Young told PA that Smythe House's "unique" fee structure came about after it asked clients what they wanted. "They told us, we went away and did it," he explained. "As a consequence of that, we felt that it isn't right for us to only be rewarded by making a transactional sale."
