The annual summit of the Group of Seven richest nations, held last week in Okinawa, was the perfect time for the heads of state to size up Russia's new president, Vladimir Putin, and maybe put him in his place. And just what is Putin's place? Well, it is not as the occupant of a full-fledged seat at the G-7 meeting, alongside the US, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and Canada.
