What got you into fund management? Other than that I didn't want to be an accountant, I didn't really know what I wanted to do when I left university. I thought I would enjoy something stockmarket-related but I had no idea what the specific roles were or whether I would be well suited to them. I got my lucky break with Kames Capital (then Aegon) in 1994. Back then the idea of gap years was pretty foreign to us so I finished university on the Friday and started work on the Monday.
