Richard Harrington took over the ministerial pensions brief from Ros Altmann this month. Here's what the industry has in store for him…

Harrington, MP for Watford and previously in charge of the government's position on Syrian refugees, was moved to the Department for Work and Pensions as under-secretary of state for pensions on 17 July. He replaced Altmann, who had been pensions minister, in a move, she said, signalled a ‘downgrading' of the role. Parliamentary under-secretary of state is the lowest of three tiers of government minister in the UK below minister of state and secretary of state.
