"So did Andrea Leadsom ever work for you?" I asked the chairman of the improbably-sized investment company Prandeamus Asset Management when I dropped by to see him this week.

"Steady on," he replied. "I know there's been some discussion over just how fictional elements of her CV may have been but don't you think that's pushing it?"  "Why would you say that?" I asked.
