Adventurous, aggressive portfolios, they're fairly easy to categorise; they contain assets at the higher end of the risk scale. Similarly, a cautious portfolio will house lower risk assets, with probably a fair amount in cash. But what about that which lies in the middle, the Goldilocks solution of ‘not too hot, not too cold, but just right' – the balanced portfolio? On this, the experts are decidedly divided. Bonds?
