It is not difficult to see how far the investment universe has expanded in recent years. Investors can access global equities, bonds, property and even some more esoteric assets via a host of convenient packaged products. Fund of funds (FoFs) have seen a notable rise: according to the IMA, cumulative gross sales of FoFs has grown from almost zero to more than £80bn since 2002. Today’s wide range of opportunities means there should be a solution for everyone, regardless of risk appetite or investment goals.
