Retirement v Inflation The Telegraph had bad news for anyone expecting a lengthy retirement, with worrying predictions about the impact of inflation over the long term, drastically reducing spending power. It said inflation averaging 3% a year over 25 years would reduce the real value of every £1 of income to just 47p by the end of that period, although, with the continued effects of quantitative easing, it predicted the impact could be even worse. Child benefit From 7 January, households with one adult earning a taxable income of least £50,000 will see part of their child benefit...
