Ahead of the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham this week, the Prime Minister and Chancellor have both given interviews highlighting some of the measures the party is seeking to introduce - as well as a few it is ruling out.

The pair gave interviews to the BBC and Mail on Sunday. Ideas set to be unveiled this week include: Removing the rise in child support benefits jobless parents receive as they have more children. This is part of plans to cut a further £10bn from the benefits budget by 2016/17, on top of the £18m cuts already underway. Limiting housing benefit for the under 25s, so that young people without a job have to live at home. Making further possible curbs on child tax credits; Allowing benefit increases to be lower than the rate of inflation; Suggesting there will be no immediate re...
