With financial advisers bidding a fond farewell to Mark Hoban, as he sets off for pastures anew as the employment minister, we look back on his time as financial secretary to the Treasury.

McDonald's Taking up the ministerial position when the coalition came into power in May 2010, Hoban first hit the radar of advisers later that year when he presented the government's stance on the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) in a Westminster Hall debate.
