An unpredictable climate, disingenuous politicians and the possibility of tax increases are just some of the reasons people are abandoning the UK to live in more exotic destinations.
Some are tempted by better career prospects. Others are promoted within their current organisations. Figures released at the end of last year revealed emigration reached a record high in 2008 with an estimated 427,000 people emigrating from the UK that year, up from 341,000 in 2007.
