Stephen Adams, manager of the UK equity fund at Aegon Asset Management, describes how simple changes to his fund have led to consistent, top-quartile performance.

Aegon Asset Management has worked hard to shake off its reputation as a fixed income house, but its flagship UK equity fund remains under the radar. The fund has outperformed in four out of the past five discrete years, giving it one of the most consistent track records in the sector and amply validating the changes made five years ago by manager Stephen Adams, who is also head of UK equities at the group.
