If he were head of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for a day, Mike Morrison would take all the regulator's staff out to talk with real people, he says, and "get them to ask real questions".

As boss of the FCA, the AJ Bell head of platform technical would also ensure the watchdog threw away "all these bits of paper" advisers have to give to clients when they complete a transaction.
