Chris Justham's Whatsapp group blew up last week but what was the topic du jour? That's right... bond yields...

Did I ever think I'd live in a world where my friends asked me about bond yields rather than which companies to buy? Reader, I did not. Fixed interest is sexy. What a time to be alive. And just to be clear, my friends are not fellow investment nerds. The gang includes: a stuntperson, a painter, a film producer, a personal trainer and an anaesthetist.  I could populate a compelling game of ‘Guess Who' from this smorgasbord of humans, but they would all be eliminated if a player asked the question "does the character encounter sovereign bonds in their day job".
