Whatever the future of Blockchain technology may be, writes John Husselbee, the current interest in Bitcoin and its ilk is at best speculation and actually more like gambling, where you must be prepared to lose all your cash

I will not pretend to understand Bitcoin mania but, at this stage, I find it hard to believe this is a serious investment opportunity. For anyone as yet unaware of the craze - with other cryptocurrencies such as Ripple, Ethereum and Cardano also gaining momentum - there is no physical money or coins involved and no regulator or nation state standing behind it. Instead, cryptocurrencies are a form of computer code stored in a digital wallet, with transactions recorded on a public ledger called Blockchain.
