The Investment Association dinner takes place shortly, and my dinner suit isn't the only item taken to the cleaners over recent weeks. Given that event has - for 30 years - been my annual precursor to Guy Fawkes' night, the metaphorical casting of Daniel Godfrey onto the fund management industry's bonfire is ironically timed.
