This year the frantic burst of ISA-investing that traditionally marks the start of April was eclipsed by a prolonged bout of doom-mongering from parts of the pensions industry. Faced with the arrival of the pension freedoms they had fought so hard to block, some of the pension world's big beasts predicted the imminent clattering of hooves from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Two months on, there has been barely a whinny. Despite Steve Webb's quip, Lamborghini hasn't been swamped with grey-haired buyers.
