This week I have a simple but outrageous idea - buy into financial assets that have strong UK domestic economic exposure.

I realise the idea of being bullish about the UK economy is really rather unBritish. A dismal kind of cynicism has settled over the country, with talk of inevitable decline coming to the fore. One can imagine international economists brushing away a thin patina of uniquely British grey dust as they open up our national books in the vain hope of spotting some fleeting signs of economic growth.  Yet the domestic economy now looks to be in slightly friskier shape than we first dared to hope.
