A pretty difficult but exciting couple of days, but clearly the utter and sadly predictable chaos in Greece and the periphery of Europe has trumped any market reaction to the UK election, which has proved to be a damp squib (as we expected). Clearly markets like certainty, of which at this juncture we have none, and we have seen UK gilt yields rise marginally over the four days, whilst sterling has weakened in expectation of a lingering “hung parliament”, (which we do not think is necessarily a bad outcome, should the talks between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats conclude successful...
