You can't have missed the recent announcement of the April 2008 Consumer Prices Index - "up to 2.5% unchanged from February and the all price Retail Price Index rose by 3.8% down from 4.1% in February" (Office of National Statistics - "First release: Consumer price indices, March 2008").
