August is usually a quiet news month for the personal finance trade press, as most companies tend to hold back during the holiday season from making announcements and releasing new product developments.

So far, however, we’ve already had news of big names changing fund management houses – Bartley and Fender at L&G and Phil Morse going to Fidelity – and all the technical talk around pensions suggests the team will get little respite from the hectic daily schedule we’ve become accustomed to.
