Now that we are past the half way mark of 2008, I thought this would be a good time to consider what the rest of the year may have in store for the platform market.

Obviously one external factor that will shape the next six months will be related to the state of global stock markets and such like. On that subject I have to say that there can be few more positive things an IFA can do at this time than move his or her clients into a fully open architecture wrap environment. By having complete investment freedom in an online environment, advisers can suddenly find themselves with a far more inventive client proposition than they might have if they are just selling the same old life office or fund supermarket funds.
