We live in interesting times. Over the past 12 months we have been bullish on gold. The last time was in the dreadful 1970s. Are we mad? Quite possibly, but we have been right so far. The balance of supply and demand is supportive. Terrorism angst puts gold back onto the radar screen. Dollar weakness has driven the price higher. Not just through simple arithmetic. Hedges from the dollar, euro and yen are not appealing and the carry costs of a non-income-producing asset are at record lows. We are looking for the dollar to rally; so logically, this might be time to bid gold farewell. ...
