The Financial Conduct Authority board has appointed Liam Coleman as chair of the Financial Ombudsman Service, with the approval of the Treasury.
Coleman will take up the permanent role on 10 October 2026 for a three-year term, having served as interim chair for the last year. Previously he held roles at the FCA, NHS Foundation Trust, Nationwide Building Society, Royal Bank of Scotland and Cooperative Bank. Coleman is currently also group chair of London & Quadrant Housing Trust. Having acted as interim chair since October 2025, he succeeded Baroness Zahida Manzoor CBE who stepped down after two terms in post.
