The Financial Conduct Authority has secured a bankruptcy order against failed insurance broker Arthur Temlett, trading as Abacus Insurance Consultants, also known to have arranged investments.
Temlett is awaiting trial on embezzlement charges, following an investigation by Police Scotland. Emma Porter, of Aver Chartered Accountants, has been appointed as trustee in the bankruptcy proceedings. Porter is set to examine Temlett's financial affairs and will look to return any recovered funds to creditors, the FCA updated. The bankruptcy, or sequestration as it is known in Scotland, order application was granted on 27 August 2026.
