Frequent changes to savings, investment and pensions policy are undermining the confidence needed to help people plan for retirement and unlock investment in the UK, according to the Investment Association (IA).
Nearly two in five people (38%) surveyed by the IA and Opinium between 11 and 15 September said that changing pensions policy in the UK makes it more difficult for them to plan for their future. A third were worried their pensions tax benefits will fall following the Autumn Budget (34%), scheduled for 28 October, while a similar proportion stated they would save more into their pension if they thought pension tax rules would remain broadly stable throughout their working life (33%).
