Tony Wickenden launches business as SJP takes Technical Connection in-house only

Tony Wickenden has unveiled a new independent business with three senior financial services specialists, as the advice market prepares for the closure of Technical Connection and Techlink to advisers who are not part of St James’s Place next year.

The new venture, The 3rd Act (T3A), has been established by Technical Connection founder Tony Wickenden alongside Phillip Wickenden, Simon Collins and Jamie Dunkley. The business will formally launch in February 2027, shortly before Technical Connection is due to cease providing services to the wider market on 6 March 2027 following a decision by SJP to keep the service in-house only.
