The Financial Ombudsman Service board has appointed Jenny Simmonds as permanent CEO and James Dipple-Johnstone as permanent chief ombudsman.
Their appointments follow an open recruitment process led by the board earlier this summer, the FOS said. Simmonds and Dipple-Johnstone initially took up their roles on an interim basis in February 2025. They succeeded Abby Thomas who stepped down from her role as CEO and chief ombudsman on 6 February 2025 having initially been appointed in October 2022. Previously Simmonds was chief finance and risk officer while Dipple-Johnstone was deputy chief ombudsman.
