M&G shuffles board as Clare Thompson steps down

Will depart following HY results

Clare Thompson, senior independent non-executive director and chair of the audit committee at M&G, has decided to step down from 3 September.

She will stand down from the board after a seven-year stint following the firm's half-year 2026 results. Clare Chapman has been appointed by the board as senior independent non-executive director, having been at the firm since March 2021. Paul Evans will take on the role of chair of the audit committee, having been a member since October 2024. Both will take on their new responsibilities in September.
