Flagstone names CEO as Simon Merchant steps down

Appoints chief operating officer Arman Tahmassebi

Flagstone has appointed Arman Tahmassebi as CEO, succeeding Simon Merchant.

Flagstone confirmed that current CEO Merchant has decided to step down for health reasons. The firm said he will continue to play an active role in the business he co-founded in 2013 as chair of the board and strategic adviser. Tahmassebi joined Flagstone as chief operating officer (COO) in early 2024 and has aimed to strengthen operations, scaling Flagstone's platform and shape the company's long-term strategy.
