Pensions have been largely excluded from the chancellor’s Spring Statement, not to the surprise of industry professionals.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves delivered her Spring Statement today (26 March), but pensions remained largely untouched, despite opportunity to provide a timeline for the government's pensions review or clarity on defined benefit surplus proposals. The lack of pensions announcements has not come as a surprise to the sector as earlier this week the industry mostly predicted "Spring Statement silence".
