Average pension transfer times dipped during 2024 while values grew

Origo data suggests overall pension transfer times took 12.3 days to complete last year

The average pension transfer times fell in 2024 while total transfer values and volumes saw a year-on-year increase, Origo research has shown.

The latest data from the fintech's Transfer Index revealed in the 12 months to 31 December, the overall transfer time to account for the more complex transfers where providers may require additional information from third parties stood at 12.3 days. The index also found the simpler pension transfers took on average 10.5 days to complete. In addition, approximately half of all transfers were completed in under seven working days – standing at 6.7 days when accounting for the providers who had opted to share their data for the index.
