Well, we are halfway through the year and things are starting to slow down for summer at Professional Adviser, on the events side at least!

The industry has continued to deliver with news this week and our most read story was about… annuities! They have been getting progressively sexier this year, words I'm sure no one ever thought they would say (bar our couple of industry fanatics!) Stability and continuity have never looked more appealing than in an economy on an incessant slip ‘n side toward recession. Stats from Canada Life show the break-even point average is five years closer than what it was 12 months ago, with the payback period on a benchmark £100,000 annuity currently 14.5 years.
