Importance of corporate culture explored at SIF 2023

Companies put themselves at risk by not developing a positive company culture and structure, which can lead to face lower investment returns, greater staff turnover and being shunned by investors, industry experts warn.

Discussing the impact corporate culture can have on businesses at the Sustainable Investment Festival 2023, City Hive founder and chief executive (CEO) Bev Shah, said a firm's culture, its leaders and business values are "really important", citing the recent example of Crispin Odey, and other well-known cases, such as the one involving Neil Woodford. "I have seen very messy internal culture leading to the investment returns not being so great", she said, adding this has been the case for firms that do not have the structure and do not understand both their own values or how to operate. ...
