Compliance inspection by TPR uncovers pension calculation errors

The Pensions Regulator warns people are at risk of missing contributions

A compliance inspection of twenty large employers across the UK has found administrative errors with the ongoing pension duties at several are putting people at risk of not receiving workplace contributions owed to them.

The Pensions Regulator (TPR) today (26 September) said its "in-depth compliance inspections" were carried out earlier this year and cover the employers of over 1.5 million UK workers. "They showed a number of errors in respect to calculating pensions contributions and communications to staff," the regulator said. "The firms, which are across the transport, hospitality, finance and retail sectors, have now corrected or are working to correct errors, including making backdated contributions."
