Defined benefit (DB) pension schemes are looking for untraditional ways to build endgame strategies to better balance member and employer needs, the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) has found.
In a report, Approaching the endgame: The future of DB pension schemes in the UK, published today (29 October), the PPI found that most private-sector DB schemes are now considering alternative pathways for their endgame strategy. Senior policy researcher Mark Baker said: "With most schemes closed to new members and new accrual, trustees and sponsors of private sector DB schemes have turned their attention to how schemes will navigate their endgames."
