Rich List: Schroder family and Peter Hargreaves fall down rankings

This year's Sunday Times Rich List saw the Schroder family and Peter Hargreaves fall in ranking as their wealth declined, while Terry Smith and Crispin Odey moved up the ranks.

The Schroder family fell from 35th to 24th place in the list of 1,000 wealthiest people in the UK, as their wealth fell by a whopping £1.22bn to £4.019bn. Much of this was driven by declines in the fund group's share price, which was trading more than 10% lower over the year to when the assets were valued at the end of March, though it has seen a rebound since. Peter Hargreaves, who had moved into the top 50 in the list for the first time last year, also lost his 42nd position, sliding to 48th place as his wealth declined by £118m to £3.046bn.
