BA Pensions suspends transfer values for all active members

'To protect service levels'

An increased volume of enquiries has caused British Airways (BA) Pensions to temporarily suspend transfer values for active members.

The decision, which applies to both the New Airways Pension Scheme (NAPS) and the Airways Pension Scheme (APS), is to "protect the service levels" BA Pensions provides to members while it consults on the proposed closure of NAPS. In a statement to members, the schemes' administrators said all active members would be affected - barring those needing a transfer value for divorce purposes - to ensure high standards during a busy period.
