McGhee joins from banking trade body

Standard Life has hired Paul McGhee as head of Brexit strategy as the insurer prepares itself for the impact of the UK's divorce from the EU.

McGhee, who will be responsible for coordinating company-wide preparations for Brexit, joins from the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), a trade body for the European banking community. "The head of Brexit strategy role was created as part of our planning for exiting from the European Union," a Standard Life spokesperson said. "We are following Brexit developments closely and remain focused on providing continuity of service to all of our clients and customers.
