"So how do you respond to this accusation you're running a cartel?" I asked the chairman of the improbably-sized investment company Prandeamus Asset Management when I visited his office this week.

"Me personally?" replied the chairman, looking confused. "You'd think I would remember something like that." "Not you personally," I said. "The UK fund management sector." "Ah," said the chairman.
