CII to launch life and pensions qualification for front line staff

Exam designed to enhance public confidence in life and pensions

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is to launch a new Life and Pensions Foundations examination unit (LF1) designed to support professional standards in the life and pensions sector.

The unit, which will be available from January next year, has been developed in conjunction with life and pensions providers. The body also commissioned consumer focus groups to find out what people want when dealing with life and pensions customer service employees. It is aimed at new entrants, front-line contact centre staff and those working in customer facing functions and will compliment employers' staff induction processes, the CII said.
