The Bank of England has appointed Charlotte Hogg to the new role of chief operating officer (COO).
Hogg currently works as head of retail distribution and intermediaries at Santander UK. She will take up the position on 1 July. The role is new, and its creation reflects the recent increase in the bank's front-line functions. The COO will take responsibility for all aspects of the bank's day-to-day management, including human resources, finance, property, IT and security. The COO will have a status and remuneration equivalent to the deputy governor's.
