Apology as Aegon sends 35 clients' details to wrong IFA

Insurer Aegon has apologised for an administration error which saw client details sent to a financial adviser by mistake.

The error breached the 1998 Data Protection Act, according to the Mail on Sunday. The report said the adviser, Whitehall Partnership, could have changed the investors' personal details or switched their investments. The firm said it received details last month of 35 Aegon investors who were not its clients. Between them they hold £1.2m in investments with the insurer.
