Dubai warns of email consumer scam

Dubai's Financial Services Authority DFSA) has warned both the financial services industry and its consumer client-base of a current fraudulent email scam coming from this email address, [email protected]

The email claims to represent the governor of the Emirate's International Finance Centre (DIFC), HE Abdullah Mohammed Saleh, as it offers a chance to "share" in a backlog of Excess Maximum Return Capital Profits (EMRCP) to those seeking finance. The DFSA says there the false claims in the email include an invitation to "participate as a broker/agent" to a "DIFC individualised equity investment portfolio management programme". It also said it contained an invitation to fiduciary agents and management experts "who will be willing to act as investment portfolio holders and administrators...
