The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) is to accept Freedom of Information (FOI) requests for the first time from this week, six years since the Act came into force. Former Justice Minister Michael Wills, under whose tenure the Act was extended, called the body’s inclusion in the legislation from 2 November a boost for “transparency and openness”.
