Man loses £70k life savings on National Express coach

An elderly man lost his entire life's savings after he left them in the luggage hold of a National Express coach.

The man, in his 80s, stored £70,000 in a holdall in the hold of a coach travelling to Portsmouth after arriving at Heathrow airport from Thailand. He had been planning to use the money, which was in Australian dollars and Thai baht, to buy a property here, the Daily Mail reports. However, when the coach reached Portsmouth, the bag with the money was gone. Hampshire Police have asked shopkeepers and bankers to look out for anyone attempting to exchange large quantities of baht or Australian dollars.
