Cult footballer turned IFA secures PFA advice deal

An ex-footballer who holds the all-time appearance record for cult club Accrington Stanley has become a financial planner and secured a contract with the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) to provide advisory services to 36 football teams across the UK.

Paul Mullin appeared more than 450 times and scored almost 200 goals for Accrington - a club made famous by this 1980s advert. Now he is a chartered financial planner with Bolton-based Pro Sport Wealth Management, which provides advice to professional footballers and other sports men and women. Earlier this month, Pro Sport, set up by former Rochdale Football Club captain Gareth Griffiths, inked a deal with the PFA to provide financial advice to 36 clubs spanning the Championship - English football's second tier - to League Two.
