Two members of staff at a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) office have been arrested following a police raid.
An in-house anti-money laundering investigation is underway within the Burnley Pensions Centre, Simonstone, and the Job Centre Plus, Blackburn, the Lancashire Telegraph reports. The DWP has refused to disclose details of the investigation but the paper understands the investigation centres around the alleged misuse of bank details by staff. A DWP spokesperson confirmed the pensions centre was raided by police on 15 June and two employees were arrested and their homes searched.
