ETF launches increase by over 5%

The global research and implementation strategy team at BlackRock has released the top 25 ETF providers around the world ranked by assets under management.

The top five are iShares, State Street Global Advisors, Vanguard, Lyxor Asset Management and db x-trackers. BlackRock reports that in this year's first quarter the number of ETFs has increased by 5.9% with 173 new launches, while 18 have merged.
