Mark Garnier has insisted only the FSA can change the course of RDR, despite the interventions of politicians and ministers.
The MP, who sits on the Treasury Select Committee, recently said he would give the FSA bosses "hell" when the committee grills them over RDR, adding he will also raise the issue of the long-stop. However, speaking at a Panacea IFA event in London, the MP said he would not be looking to assert parliamentary control over regulatory authorities, which he believes would be detrimental to the industry.
